Djouman was a partner of the “Get In The Ring” event held in Abidjan on Wednesday 15 February 2017. Get In The Ring is an event that brings together startups from around the world, in a ring, on the principle of a duel pitch contest. The Abidjan edition brought together several innovative start-ups in fields as diverse as transport, waste treatment, agriculture, and even fintech.
Get In The Ring – Abidjan was organized by the African Start-Up Solution & Partnership (ASSP). The ASSP is an association of African entrepreneurial enthusiasts who are committed to supporting African startups in the development of their activities. The support offered is mainly through the organization of events allowing the connection with investors, partners, as well as with other entrepreneurs. The PSAB is composed of a young and dynamic team: Régis Hervé Da Silveira (President, Co-Founder), Tidiane Coulibaly (Vice-President, Co-Founder), Henri Emmanuel Boa (Treasurer, Co-Founder), Ornella Sangronio (General Coordinator), Jean Yves Naka (General Secretary) & Alexandre Banny (Deputy Coordinator).
By organizing the Ivorian stage of Get in The Ring in Abidjan, the ASSP offered participating start-ups visibility and credibility. The association also fostered networking with potential investors who were present at the event. In addition, the success of the event is due in part to the selection of a high-level jury composed of professionals from renowned structures such as Bloomfield Investment, Alink Telecom, NSIA Technologies, Pulsar Partners, Equator Capital Partners, Founder Institute, and Vaughan Avocats Paris. The animation was there and the audience got along well.
The lucky winner of this edition: Samuel Sevi, CEO of Young Power. This start-up offers an innovative solution for rubber producers to reduce crop losses. Samuel will participate in the final of Get In the Ring which will take place in Singapore on May 17, 2017.
We would like to thank all our partners and all those who have contributed to the success of this event, especially: the MCS, CEPICI, Mr. Adama Bictogo, the sound team, the photographers, Ms. Assamah Guenneguez, and Empow Her, to name but a few.
We’re planning to meet you for the next edition of Get In The Ring Abidjan!
